There are different classes of the seamless carbon steel pipes such as the API 5L X65 PSL2 Seamless Pipe and others. There are also the product level specifications 1 and 2. The PSL 1 pipes are most common while the PSL 2 pipes have higher mechanical properties. The pipes are also wear resistant so that they can be used in high friction conditions. The API 5L X42 Seamless Pipe can be used in the open environment as well as under water and underground applications because it resists wear and tear.
